Parish of Auchterderran

Auchterderran is a parish, which lies in Fife Council Area, some 4 miles (7 km) west of Kirkcaldy and 5 miles (9 km) southwest of Glenrothes in Fife.

It is located in the old county of Fife, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 32.4 sq. km (12.5 sq. miles). Auchterderran has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Auchtertool, Ballingry, Beath, Kinglassie, Kirkcaldy & Dysart and Portmoak. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
