Parish of Rothesay

Rothesay is a small coastal parish, which lies in Argyll and Bute Council Area, some 10 miles (15 km) southwest of Dunoon in Argyll and Bute and 14 miles (23 km) southwest of Greenock in Inverclyde.

It is located in the old county of Bute and Arran, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 10.1 sq. km (3.9 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Rothesay. Rothesay has Kingarth and North Bute as its neighbouring parishes. The boundaries of this parish were modified as a consequence of the Local Government (Scotland), 1894.
