Parish of Carmunnock

Carmunnock is a small parish, which lies in Glasgow City Council Area, some 3 miles (5 km) northwest of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire and 5 miles (7 km) east of Newton Mearns in East Renfrewshire.

It is located in the old county of Lanarkshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 14.1 sq. km (5.4 sq. miles). Carmunnock has 4 neighbouring parishes; namely Cambuslang, Cathcart, East Kilbride and Rutherglen.
