Parish of Stonehouse

Stonehouse is a parish, which lies in South Lanarkshire Council Area, some 6 miles (10 km) south of Hamilton and 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Carluke in South Lanarkshire.

It is located in the old county of Lanarkshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 25.5 sq. km (9.8 sq. miles). Stonehouse has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Avondale, Dalserf, Glassford, Hamilton and Lesmahagow.
