Parish of Pettinain

Pettinain is a small parish, which lies in South Lanarkshire Council Area, some 8 miles (13 km) southeast of Carluke and 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Douglas in South Lanarkshire.

It is located in the old county of Lanarkshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 16.1 sq. km (6.2 sq. miles). Pettinain has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Carmichael, Carnwath, Carstairs, Covington, Lanark and Libberton.
