Rhona Martin

1966 -

Curling champion. A housewife living in Dunlop (East Ayrshire), Martin led (or 'skipped') the Curling Team which took the Gold Medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (USA). The remainder of the team comprised Fiona MacDonald (b.1974), Janice Rankin (b.1972), Debbie Knox (b.1968) and Margaret Morton (b.1968).

Martin won a silver medal at the 1998 European Championships and was named Scottish Ladies Champion in 2000. She was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List (2002).

Martin provided commentary on the curling at the 2018 Winter Olympics for the BBC.
