Actor. Born in Easterhouse (Glasgow), Boyd was brought up in Cranhill by his grandmother following the death of his parents. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in the city, graduating with a Diploma in Dramatic Arts. Boyd came to the fore in the role of Pippin in Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (2001), together with its sequels The Two Towers (2002) and The Return of the King (2003). The fair-haired actor has also had a successful career in theatre.
Boyd topped the list of Most Eligible Men in Scotland early in 2002.
