John Rolland

Minor poet. Probably the son of another John Rolland, who in 1481 was Sub-Dean in the Diocese of Glasgow, Rolland may also have been a priest in Glasgow but was known to be a notary in Dalkeith in 1555. He is known for two poems; the Court of Venus (written c.1560 and published, probably posthumously, in 1575) and a translation of the Seven Sages (published 1578).
