Ornithologist. Born at Easter Elchies (Moray), Ogilvie-Grant joined the British Museum at the age of nineteen and rose to become Curator of Birds (1909-18). He suffered a debilitating stroke while serving with the County of London Regiment on the home-front during World War I.
He died at his home near Reading (England).
