Angus Lennie


1930 - 2014

Actor. Born in Glasgow, Lennie was educated at Eastbank Academy in Shettleston. He began his career in theatre, but soon took minor but notable roles in succession of war films; namely Tunes of Glory (1960), The Great Escape (1963), 633 Squadron (1964) and Oh! What a Lovely War (1969). He also appeared on television as Sunny Jim in the BBC adaptation of the Para Handy stories (1959), the chef Shughie McFee in the soap opera Crossroads (1974-80), also appearing in Dr. Finlay's Casebook (1963, 1967 and 1969), the science-fiction series Dr Who (1967 and 1975) and light-hearted drama Monarch of the Glen (2001-03).

Lennie died in Acton (West London).
