William Thom


1799 - 1848

Minor poet. Born in Aberdeen, where he worked as a weaver. Thom also worked at Inverurie. He is noted for the poem The Mitherless Bairn.

Thom died in the Hawkhill, Dundee and is buried in the Western Cemetery in the city.
