Kevin Bridges


1986 -

Stand-up comedian. Born in Clydebank, Bridges was raised in Hardgate (West Dunbartonshire). He was educated at St. Columba's High School, leaving at the age of 16, but later returning to education to study social science at Glasgow Caledonian University. Bridges began his career in The Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow. He found success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (2005) and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival (2006). Having made his television debut on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, he went on to further appearances including Have I Got News for You?, Would I Lie to You? and Live at the Apollo. For BBC1, he made Kevin Bridges: What's the Story? (2012) and hosted Live at the Commonwealth to coincide with the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Noted for his lewd observational comedy, rooted in working-class self-deprecation, he has performed for US President Barack Obama.
