Scott Hutchison

1981 - 2018

Musician and song-writer. Born in Edinburgh and raised in Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, Hutchison studied at Glasgow School of Art. He was most notably associated with the indie rock band Frightened Rabbit, which he founded with his brother Grant in 2003. They release five albums; namely Sing the Greys (2006), The Midnight Organ Fight (2008), The Winter of Mixed Drinks (2010), Pedestrian Verse (2013) and Painting of a Panic Attack (2016). He also recorded with The Fruit Tree Foundation, a collective featuring Scottish indie rock and folk musicians.

Having suffered from recurring mental health problems, Hutchison disappeared from a South Queensferry hotel on 9th May 2018, and his body was found near Port Edgar the following day. It seems likely he enacted the dark lyrics from one of his songs, jumping from Forth Road Bridge.
