Sean Batty


1982 -

Television meteorologist, noted for his charity work. Born in Paisley and raised for a time in Falkirk, Batty was educated at Castlehead High School and the University of Reading. He began his career as a meteorologist at an army base in Hampshire before working behind the scenes to prepare forecasts for ITV weather. He then moved the BBC as a regional weather presenter, before moving to Scottish Television (STV) in 2007 as their sole forecast presenter. Batty has developed an enthusiastic group of young weather observers known as the Mini Mets.

He has hosted the Scottish Children’s Lottery draws since 2017 and has also presented Sean’s Scotland (2019), travelling around the country.

Noted for his charity work, Batty is an enthusiastic supporter of the STV Children’s Appeal.
