Mili Smith


1998 -

Curling champion. Born in Perth, into a curling family, Smith was raised in nearby Guildtown and educated at Perth Academy. She learned to curl at the Dewars Centre in the city and was one of a team representing her school which won the Scottish Schools' Curling Championships at the Braehead Arena (Renfrewshire) in 2016. In the same year, Smith was a member of Ross Whyte's rink for the Winter Youth Olympics and went on to join a women's team which won a silver medal at the World Junior Curling Championships at Pyeongchang in South Korea in 2017. As part of Eve Muirhead's team she won a gold medal at the European Curling Championships in Lillehammer (Norway) in 2021 and a further gold medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics of 2022. Smith was awarded an MBE later the same year.

Her father, David Smith, won the World Curling Championships in 1991, and was twice European Champion, while her brothers Kyle and Cameron Smith are both also successful curlers.
