John Hannah


1962 -

Actor. Born in East Kilbride, the youngest of three children. Hannah apprenticed as an electrician for four years before being accepted at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. His more notable screen appearances include Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) for which he was nominated as Best Supporting Actor by BAFTA (1995), Madagascar Skin (1995) which won him Best Actor at the Stockholm Film Festival, Sliding Doors (1998), The Mummy (1999) and The Hurricane (1999). Other work has included the leading role in the Scottish TV series McCallum (1995) and the role of Inspector Rebus in the TV portrayal of Ian Rankin's Rebus: Black and Blue (2000).

He now lives in London.
