Digestive Biscuit Invented


1892

The digestive biscuit was invented in 1892 by Alexander Grant a young employee of McVitie & Price in Edinburgh. The chocolate digestive followed in 1925. Digestive biscuits have gone on to become one of the most popular in the English-speaking world, while McVities subsequently became part of the multi-national United Biscuits through merger.
