John Muir Trust Founded


1983

The John Muir Trust was founded in 1983 to safeguard the future of British wild lands against development and to promote awareness of their value. The Trust operates primarily in Scotland, owning more than 25,000 ha (61,776 acres) of land, including the Ben Nevis, East Schiehallion, Quinag and Sandwood Estates, together with the Torrin, Sconser and Strathaird Estates on Skye.
