An ice sports facility located within Camperdown Leisure Complex in NW Dundee, the Dundee Ice Arena opened in 2000, replacing the former Dundee-Angus Ice Rink - an Art Deco building on West Kingsway, which dated from the 1930s.
The £6.7 million facility includes an Olympic-size ice rink with seating for 2300 spectators and provides facilities for skating, ice hockey and curling. It is home to the Dundee CCS Stars Ice Hockey Club, the Dundee Ice Skating Club and the Dundee Speed Skating Club, and also supports public skating and figure skating, with well-regarded coaching available.
The arena hosted the Scottish Speed Skating Championship in 2009.
The facility also provides for corporate and private events using its hospitality rooms, and includes a cafe, bar, restaurant and skating supply shop. It is run by the charity Dundee Ice Arena, closely associated with Dundee City Council, and has an annual income of around £1 million.
