Situated in a rural location between the River Irvine and the A71 trunk road, on the edge of Dreghorn in North Ayrshire, Holmsford Bridge Crematorium lies 2½ miles (4 km) east of Irvine and 4 miles (6.5 km) west of Kilmarnock.
Set in 4.25 ha (10.5 acres) of parkland, the building is a white-rendered Dutch-barn of a construction. This crematorium opened in 1997 and is run privately by the West Midlands-based Dignity Funerals Ltd. There were 1275 cremations in 2007 but, by 2017, this figure had risen to 1528. Memorials are set in adjacent gardens of remembrance, which are landscaped to blend in with the surrounding countryside.
