Hadyard Hill Wind Farm

Located in Carrick district of South Ayrshire, Hadyard Hill Wind Farm lies 2 miles (3 km) south of Dailly and 5½ miles (9 km) east of Girvan. Costing £85 million, the farm comprises 52 three-bladed Danish turbines, each capable of generating 2.3 MW of power, giving a total output of 120 MW, which made this Britain's most powerful wind farm when it was commissioned in March 2006.

The diameter of the blades is 80m (262 feet) and each turbine is mounted on tubular steel towers either 60m (197 feet) or 70m (229 feet) in height. The farm includes three permanent 60-m (197-feet) high anemometer towers to monitor its performance and is connected by a high-voltage overhead transmission line, which leads north northeast for 7 miles (11 km) to connect to the national electricity network at Maybole.

The farm is operated by the Perth-based utility Scottish and Southern Energy Generation Ltd.
