Bowland Station

Little remains of Bowland Station, which opened on the Edinburgh and Hawick Railway (Waverley Line) in 1848 to serve Bowland House and a rather sparse community. The station closed to passengers in 1953 but seems to have remained open for goods until 1964, with the line closing five years later. Although the line re-opened as the Borders Railway in 2015, Bowland was not chosen as a site for one of the new stations.
