Denny Muir

An area of upland moor in the extreme west of Falkirk Council Area, Denny Muir lies to the west of Denny. Part of the area is farmed and some is covered with plantation forest. Denny Muir Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) was designated in 1992 and extends to 197.6 ha (488 acres). It is recognised as important due to its mosaic of upland habitats including blanket bog, dwarf shrub heath, acid grassland and fen communities.
