Auchindrain Museum

The open air museum of Auchindrain is situated at the old township of Auchindrain 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Inveraray in Argyll and Bute. The museum has been designed to recreate for visitors the daily lives of the west highlanders in the 19th Century. The museum comprises a number of restored buildings, together with surrounding fields, pastures and a visitor centre, which was opened in 1975 by broadcaster and author Magnus Magnusson.
