Kelvin Hall

Situated opposite the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the West End of Glasgow City, the Kelvin Hall was built in 1927, replacing a previous building burnt down in 1925. It was used to house large scale exhibitions and during the Second World War was used to produce barrage and convoy balloons. Converted in 1987, it now houses the Museum of Transport and the Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena, which is a venue for events such as athletics and boxing.
