HM Prison Inverness


(Porterfield Prison)

HM Prison Inverness, alternatively known as Porterfield Prison, is the main prison for the Highlands, Western Isles, Orkney Isles and Moray and is located at Inverness. The prison provides secure custody for all remand prisoners and short term adult prisoners, both male and female. Established in 1902, the previous prison was housed in Inverness Castle.
