Bonaly Reservoir

A reservoir lying 3 miles (4 km) to the southwest of Wester Hailes and 6 miles (9 km) southwest of Edinburgh city centre, Bonaly Reservoir is one of a number of reservoirs supplying that city with water. Opened in 1853, the reservoir is retained by a stone-faced earthwork dam.
