Ormiston Hall

(Ormiston House)

A compact Scots Baronial mansion overlooking the Gogar Burn in West Lothian, Ormiston Hall is located a half-mile (1 km) west southwest of Kirknewton. It was built for the Wilkie family by David Bryce (1803-76). The house was altered by Sydney Mitchell & Wilson in 1896 and is now B-listed. An earlier Ormiston Hall has been the country seat of physician Prof. William Cullen (1710-90).

It is often referred to as Ormiston House to avoid confusion with the now-ruined Ormiston Hall at Ormiston in East Lothian.
