A stately low bridge that curves across the Cromarty Firth between Findon Pier and Ardullie Point, a mile (1.6 km) northwest of Culbokie. It carries the A9 Trunk Road north. Along with the Kessock Bridge, 10 miles (16 km) to the south southeast, the A9 now bypasses towns such as Beauly, Muir of Ord, Conon Bridge and Dingwall, greatly reducing journey times.
Built by Fairclough Civil Engineering Ltd. for the Scottish Development Department, it opened in 1979 and cost £5 million. The bridge connects a causeway on the southern shore, with a shorter approach section extending from Ardullie Point on the northern shore. Extending to 1464m (4803 feet), it comprises 68 reinforced concrete spans, with aluminium parapets. Crash barriers were added later. There is a walkway on the western side and the bridge.
