New Haig House

An unremarkable two-storey building which forms the headquarters of Poppyscotland (previously the Earl Haig Fund Scotland), New Haig House is set back from Logie Green Road in Beaverbank, a mile (1.5 km) north of the centre of Edinburgh. Nearby is Lady Haig's Poppy Factory, which works closely with the charity. The building was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 3rd July 1978.

The Earl Haig Fund Scotland was established in 1921 to receive the donations from the annual poppy appeal instituted by Field Marshal Douglas Haig (1861 - 1928), the British Commander of the Western Front, who was horrified by the circumstances of many former soldiers. The charity supports service personnel who are struggling with the practicalities of life outside the Armed Forces and provides specialist services (including supporting residential homes) for ex-servicemen and women and their families. The Fund adopted its new name, Poppyscotland, in 2006. In 2011 it merged with the Royal British Legion, which operates south of the border.

The charity operates a second office in Kinning Park, Glasgow.
