Located between Burgh Road and Gilbertson Road in Lerwick (Shetland), Gilbertson Park is principally laid out for sport, with a football pitch and games pavilion. It was the gift of Robert P. Gilbertson (1840 - 1907), a son of Lerwick who made his fortune in South Africa. Gilbertson bought the land in 1895 and gave it to the people of Lerwick, with the stipulation that entry charges could be made no more than twice per year, and only if seating was provided. The park opened by Gilbertson himself, with great ceremony, on the 27th July 1897 in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. This fact is recorded on the left-hand of two Classical gate piers which feature ball-finials. These piers, along with the gates, are B-listed. The park is now owned and maintained by Shetland Islands Council.
Gilbertson Park was used as a military camp during World War II.
