Colintraive Community Garden

A picturesque garden in the S of the Cowal peninsula, Colintraive Community Garden lies behind the village hall, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) east of the ferry terminal. The 0.2-ha (0.5-acre) garden comprises planting of shrubs and exotics, amongst pre-existing trees, with paths, dry-stone walls, a sunken garden, bog garden, picnic area, together with a lade and pond, which once supplied water to power a now-demolished meal mill. The garden was created in 2003 for the BBC Scotland television programme Beechgrove Garden.
