Harbour Branch Bridge (Former)

(Harbour Branch Railway Bridge)

Marching across the River Ayr between its mouth and the New Bridge, only the stone piers remain of the former Harbour Branch Bridge, which once conveyed the railway from Newton on Ayr to service the southern section of Ayr Harbour. Built in 1899, it was demolished in 1978.
