Rosehall Wind Farm

A medium-sized wind farm located to the west of Achany Wind Farm, 1½ miles (2.5 km) northeast of Rosehall and 5½ miles (9 km) west southwest of Lairg in Sutherland. Rosehall comprises 19 Siemens turbines, each of 1.3 MW giving a total generation capacity for the site of 24.7 MW. Consent was given in 2007 and the farm was commissioned in January 2013. The developer and operator is the German-based power multi-national E.ON. Each turbine has a rotor diameter of 62m (203 feet) and is mounted at a height of 59m (193 feet), giving an overall height of 90m (295 feet). A fund has been created to provide an index-linked sum of £61,000 annually, for the life of the wind farm, to benefit the local community.
