A small brewery which has become one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island of Arran, Arran Brewery is located at Cladach, a mile (1.8 km) north of Brodick. Opened in 2000, occupying buildings built for the Brodick Castle estate and using equipment purchased from a defunct brewery in Jersey in the Channel Islands, it produces a range of prize-winning ales. The brewery includes a bar and visitor centre. It attracts around 20,000 visitors a year, some of whom are seeking refreshment having descended from Goatfell via the path reaches the road here.
The brewery includes a visitor centre which offers guided tours and provides access to a viewing gallery overlooking production areas.
Arran Brewery was bought by a Glasgow-based management company in 2008, having suffered financial problems.
