Carrbridge Station

A railway station on the Highland Railway, Carrbridge (Gael: Drochaid Chàrr) is located at Ellan, a half-mile (1 km) west southwest of the village of Carrbridge and 3½ miles (5.5 km) northwest of Boat of Garten. It opened with the line in 1892, while the picturesque black-and-white waiting room and ticket office opened six years later. Now operated by ScotRail, Carrbridge Railway Station is unstaffed and is used by around 6000 passengers per annum (2015). It is preceded by Aviemore Railway Station, 6 miles (10 km) to the south, and followed by Inverness, 21 miles (33 km) to the northwest. This is the last station before the Slochd Summit, 3¾ miles (6 km) to the west northwest.
