A halt on the Oban Branch of the West Highland Line in Argyll and Bute, the Falls of Cruachan Railway Station (Gael: Eas Chruachain) lies next to Cruachan Power Station, on the northern shore of the arm of Loch Awe which extends into the Pass of Brander, 2¾ miles (4.5 km) west of the settlement Lochawe and 3½ miles (5.5 km) northeast of Kilchrenan. This station opened on the Callander & Oban Railway in 1893 with a single platform serving a single-track line but closed in 1965. It re-opened in 1988, primarily used by hillwalkers and tourists accessing the remote Cruachan Power Station visitor centre, but this amounts to only around 700 passengers in 2016. Now operated by ScotRail, Falls of Cruachan Railway Station is unstaffed and provides a simple modern shelter for passengers. It is preceded by Loch Awe Railway Station, 2¾ miles (4.5 km) to the east, and followed by Taynuilt, 5½ miles (9 km) to the west northwest.
