An intermodal freight-handling facility in Renfrewshire, the Elderslie Rail Freight Terminal is run by Malcolm Rail, a division of the W. H. Malcolm logistics group based in nearby Linwood. It is located on the Ayrshire Coast Line, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) east northeast of the centre of Elderslie in Renfrewshire. Opened in 2001, the terminal links road, rail and warehouse operations. Regular services operate to the Grangemouth Rail Freight Terminal, which takes a significant volume of traffic off the Central Scotland road network.
