Dunachton Symbol Stone

Not in its original location, the Dunachton Symbol Stone is now located on the terrace next to Dunachton Lodge, a half-mile (1 km) southwest of Kincraig. Thought to date from the 7th C., the stone was discovered in 1870 having been used as a lintel over a door in an old steading, which was being demolished to provide stone to the build the Lodge, and has suffered damage as a result. It was placed on a sandstone base in the Lodge garden but has fallen and been re-erected several times. It is 1.3m (4¼ feet) in height and 0.4m (1⅓ feet) wide, with a deer's head etched on one side.
