A country park and local nature reserve to the east of Sauchie in Clackmannanshire, Gartmorn Dam Country Park includes the oldest man-made reservoir still operating in Scotland and incorporates facilities for picnicking, fishing, bird-watching and walking. The Gartmorn reservoir was built in 1713 by the Earl of Mar in an ambitious scheme to use water power to drive pumps in his coal mines.
