Loch Treig Tunnel

A railway tunnel located on the West Highland Railway Line on the east shore of the remote Loch Treig, a mile (1.5 km) south of Fersit (Highland), the Loch Treig Tunnel is 127m (139 yards) in length. It was completed in 1932 as part of a scheme to re-align the railway to permit Loch Treig to be enlarged as a reservoir associated with electricity generation for the Aluminium Smelter at Fort William.
