North Berwick Golf Club (West Links)

Situated adjacent to the Firth of Forth and extending west from the edge of the town centre to Yellowcraig nature reserve, the West Links at North Berwick provides stunning sea views across to Bass Rock and the island of Craigleith. Founded in 1832 it is the thirteenth oldest golf club in the world and the third oldest course, behind Muirfield Golf Course and St. Andrews Old Course. Designed by an unknown architect originally as a 6-hole course, it was extended to 18 holes by 1877. The last major redesign of the course was carried out by Ben Sayers in 1932. The 6506-yard, par-71 course is host to various championships, including serving as a qualifying venue when The Open Championship is held at Muirfield.
