Drumlanrig's Tower Visitor Centre, Hawick

Located in the centre of Hawick (Scottish Borders), Drumlanrig's Tower comprises a much altered 16th C. tower house. built on the L-plan. Originally a home of the Douglas family, it was the only building not to be burned in 1570 by the invading English army led by Thomas Howard, the Earl of Surrey. Later it was converted into a fine house for Anna, Duchess of Monmouth and Buccleuch.

Today, the building is a visitor centre, with exhibits on its history and that of Hawick.
