Parish of Kirkpatrick Irongray

Kirkpatrick Irongray is a parish, which lies in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, some 11 miles (17 km) south of Thornhill and 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway.

It is located in the old county of Kirkcudbrightshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 55.4 sq. km (21.4 sq. miles). Kirkpatrick Irongray has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Dunscore, Holywood, Kirkpatrick Durham, Lochrutton, Terregles and Urr.
