Parish of Reay

Reay is a coastal parish, which lies in Highland Council Area, some 9 miles (15 km) southwest of Thurso and 23 miles (37 km) west of Wick in Highland.

It is located in the old county of Caithness, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 187.3 sq. km (72.3 sq. miles). Reay has Farr, Halkirk and Thurso as its neighbouring parishes. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
