Dr. Richard Budgett


1959 -

Olympic gold-medal winner and Chief Medical Officer to the British Olympic Association. Born in Scotland, Budgett graduated in medicine in 1983. He took a gold medal as a member of the British coxed-fours team in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games the first time Britain took the top honours in rowing since the London Olympic Games of 1948.

He was appointed Chief Medical Officer to the British Olympic Association in 1994 and was awarded an OBE in 2003 for his services to sport.
