Douglas (Doug) Cocker


1945 -

Sculptor. Born in Alyth (Perth and Kinross), Cocker trained at the Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art in Dundee. He served as a lecturer in sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art, Duncan of Jordanstone and at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, together with art schools elsewhere in the UK, and in the USA and Canada, before becoming a full-time sculptor in 1990.

Cocker's works include Meridian (1990) on the exterior of Grampian House - the Mobil (UK) Headquarters in Aberdeen; Angel (1995) is sited in Tyrebagger Woods (Aberdeen); the granite memorial within Ben Lomond National Memorial Park (1997); and Ghost (1999) at House for an Art Lover in Glasgow.

He lives in Aberdeen.
