Paul Foster


1973 -

Bowler. Born in Irvine and now living in Troon, Foster first gained success as Scottish Junior Indoor Champion in 1997, going in to collect several world titles. Playing with Alex Marshall (b.1967), Foster won a gold medal in the Pairs event at the Commonwealth Games of 2006, again at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, together with a further gold medal in the Fours, playing alongside Marshall, David Peacock (b.1970) and Neil Speirs (b.1979). Fours success was repeated at the Gold Coast Games in 2018, together with a silver in the pairs. In 2022, Foster and Marshall took a bronze medal in the pairs at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Foster was awarded an MBE in 2014 for services to the sport.
