Nationalist politician. Born in Paisley and educated at Lourdes Secondary School in Cardonald (Glasgow), Black joined the Scottish National Party in 2014. While still in her final year studying Politics and Public Policy at the University of Glasgow, she stood as Member of Parliament for Paisley & Renfrewshire South in 2015 against Labour heavy-weight and campaign strategist Douglas Alexander (b. 1967). As part of the SNP landslide which transpired, she was elected with a majority of 5,684 and a 32.8% swing, becoming Britain's youngest MP since the 17th century.
