Sir William Ferguson


1808 - 1877

Surgeon. Born at Prestonpans. Ferguson studied at Edinburgh, and became a surgeon at the Infirmary in the city (1836). He was knighted (1866). He moved to London to become Professor of Surgery at King's College. He was also President of the Pathological Society (1859) and of the British Medical Association (1873).
